What is Bitumen ?
Bitumen is a viscous, black, and sticky petroleum-based substance used primarily in road construction and waterproofing applications. It is a hydrocarbon product obtained as a residue during the distillation of crude oil. Manufacturing Process

Distillation of Crude Oil
Bitumen is the residue left after lighter hydrocarbons like LPG, petrol, and diesel are removed from crude oil via fractional distillation.
Air Blowing Process
The residue is then subjected to controlled air blowing at high temperatures to produce oxidized or blown bitumen, enhancing its performance in specific applications.
Blending and Grading
Different grades of bitumen are blended and standardized according to national and international specifications (e.g., 60/70, 80/100, VG-30/40, etc.).
Quality Testing
